Still into Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and on S1 E8: … Zoey’s Extraordinary Glitch. After getting some sad news about her father, Zoey goes into her own “heart song” momentous performances. I really like them. “Crazy” .. she sings right after the doctors appointment at SPRQPOINTs lobby. With a few dancers helping her, it ends up in front of Max & he tries to help her piece everything & why she’s the one doing the “heart songs” this time.
When Joan tells everyone that their main boss, Danny Michael Davis, is stopping by to hear their pitch for ‘The Chirp’ the more Zoey gets under pressure and literally sings to him & the board, Billy Joel’s “Pressure.” And when Max hears her singing and knows that she’s doing this in spite of her powers, he jumps right in and sings & dances along with her. It’s very sweet. Oh, they were so cute duetting together. And that’s their pitch. Max makes up that.. “when you’re under pressure like this,” he says, and he creatively gets her out of a quite embarrassing moment.
And at the end of it, Zoey confides with Max and sings her first “heart song” to Max. 🥰 Jason Mraz “I’m Yours” performed dramatically, in a way, with shyness & with a bit of flirting involved. Oh, how Max holds a big smile on his face to know that Zoey just sang her inner thoughts in a song to him.
Oh! Just watching Zoey & Max together; her singing & him swooning over her singing was wonderful (with me being team Max and all), then Zoey has to go in the meditation room and sing to Simon “I want you to want me” by Cheap Trick.. and then to have Max walk in on that song. Ugh!! Heart ache all over again for Max. And another confusing & disappointing moment, is when Zoey apologizes to Simon in his office & he surprisingly kisses her. Nooooo! I am not team Simon. Noooo! That hurt me just watching Zoey kiss him instead of Max. Ugh!!!
Ok. So.. I’m sooo glad Max did not walk in on them kissing. Phew! But I’m still upset at that. I hope that blows off & Zoey continues to realize she belongs with Max.
So, Max is upset at Zoey, but Max ends up talking to her because Maggie texts Max to check if Zoey is ok. And right then, that’s when Zoey tells Max that her father has only a few weeks left to live. Max talks to her and assists Zoey that she’s gotten through the day without being fired & nobody hates her (except for him – only a lil’ bit) and that she will get through this tough time with her family too. 💕
Zoey finally reaches her parents’ place, and still feels emotionally distraught, she builds up to sing “How do I Live” by Leann Rimes, to her father. Very emotional & as for me personally, it brought tears to my eyes when I saw Zoey and Mitch hug and cry too. Jane Levy has a beautiful voice when she sings. I’m so glad that this episode shows more of her singing because her voice plus her performances are wonderful!! Ohhhh! I guess I’m gonna binge watch it all from pilot til the next upcoming episode. Til next week, ahh shh….!🙃
⭐️9/10 .. this would have been a 10 but that kiss between Simon & Zoey .. noooooo! It’s team Max all the way!
